Observation details
A skittish shorebird flushed and called once with a killdeer- or yellowlegs-like flight call, roughly ki-di-di-du, as i walked the fenceline overlooking the field of Truman Annex NAS. Bird was viewed through the fence from the state park. Lone bird, relatively large shorebird, thick yellow legs, chevron-barred breast and flanks, small head, bill mid-length yellow with black tip. Bird was very skittish, but if I held still then it moved around on the un-mowed weedy field with bare spots and fed. Photo attached.
