Observation details
At least one individual, but likely two. Very secretive ammospiza, only flushing when I would walk 2 feet or so away from the bush it sits in. Perched up in the open briefly for a few seconds. Overall very orange, coloration easily visible in flight. Contrast between the gray and orange in the cheeks, and strong white streaking on the back were very noticeable in the quick views in flight. Mostly silent, but gave a few flight calls which sounded similar to Grasshopper Sparrow (High, thin, and somewhat long). Seen further east than yesterday's coordinates, but moving around a large area which included the eastern part of the berm and the salt marsh surrounding it. Photos
