Observation details
This bird was found by Linda Pivacek this morning. I found out about it via email while on Plum Island. Of course, birding the island had to be abbreviated due to this new state bird for me. Bird was quickly refound once I arrived at the scene. I photographed it via iPhone and Kowa scope. Wavy dark lines on head, long primary projection, brown throat, long tail, and very large size evident. The bird was quite brown, and corresponds mostly with Sibley's "rufous" morph, but certain gray morph features, such as the scapulars seen.
