Media notes
Identified as B. v. lagophonus, based on range.. I heard this bird giving "shriek" call in trees adjacent to my home, got out of bed and made this and two other recordings. This is an uninterrupted tape giving true frequency of calling. I do not know why this bird was giving this call. Another Great Horned Owl in the distance was giving more common call. After recording, sight ID of bird was made. Record level was estimated because it was too dark to read meter. Habitat: Deciduous Forest, Rural, Active Agricultural.
