BREEDING STATUS: territorial paired Recordist's Note: "National Ecology Research Center is doing Willow Flycatcher population studies in this area along Central Patrol Rd. as it has highest density of Willows they have found. Talked w/ head of study, Jim Sedgwick, National Ecology Research Center, 4512 McMurry, Ft. Collins, CP 80525. He described vocalization Willows give while actively nest building and showed me nest he had located at this site." BNA: Song "fitz-bew"; at 0:06 seconds into the recording is a possible "Writ-tu" call; at 0:19 seconds is possible "Whup" call; also heard "Whit" call; at 0:25 seconds possible Trill call and later in recording; odd call at 0:42. Lots of Trill call at end. mf. Habitat: Deciduous Forest, Montane Grassland, River, Riparian.
