Media notes
A male Cone-billed Tanager sings from atop a dead branch of a medium-sized tree at the edge of the oxbow lake we visited up the Rio Claro from the Jardim da Amazonia pousada. Background includes: Palm Tanagers. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
A singing male appeared along the edge of the oxbow lake, singing from the dead top of a scrubby tree. We moved the boat toward it and got good looks (photos) and recorded its song, the recordings after playback. A lifer for RAR & REW!
