Observation details
Slightly smaller than DCCOs, dark lores, white feathers showing on back of head and neck. East side of causeway observed by myself, Ronnie and Ricky from approx 35.1449663, -77.0891695. Great look as it stayed perched on a snag for several minutes before getting into the water and mingling with a couple of DCCOs for comparison. Credit to Trevor Sleight for original sighting this morning for the 2nd NC record! Naturally, a lifer for me, NC #298!
