NOTES: (Species: I. veriegatus male BBB & other ??; Time: 1030-1236; Distance to Sound Source: variable; Background Sounds: L. ferrugineus sometimes dominant, T. rubiginosus sometimes obtrusive, subadult I. indicator; Sex: males; Breeding Status: "territorial"; Sound Category: alternate song; Stimulus for Sound: as annotated - see notes; Behavioral Context: male/male interactions at supplanting males [females present not vocal]; General Climate: cyclic wet-dry) The male in the LAT Grove BBB being supplanted by GBG male this still on going since first noted 19th January [females present non vocal] males and females drawn to the sounds and chases of the contesting males. LNS cat## 47144, 45, 47, 48, 49 and 47152. This cut # 47184 is from the entire MT #34 86/87 - [and end of MT #33]. ALL field annotations are retained on the cut: this features all highly expressive vocalizations - alternate songs, songs, - chatter and [word obliterated by hole punch in page] calls, pew calls. These are [we now know as (in 1990) we have extensive knowledge of these situations and have seen many which gives us knowledge of the related behavior] entirely male vocalizations. I was in the LAT from 0945-1236. Exiru my field assistant and security guard .. See publications, recording edit books and field journals for additional info. I. indicator singing from southern position near the feeding site 600+m beyond LAT. A subadult I. indicator was seen to chase the male variegatus.
