Observation details
Continuing record, however this report represents a high count of this species for San Benito County. The bulk of 300-400+ common goldeneyes have departed which almost certainly made finding the Barrow's goldeneyes easier. Recent rains in the county have flooded many areas in the northeast part of the county. Ducks seemed to have spread out much more. Heavy flooding in the Lover's Lane, San Felipe Road and Lake Road areas. I haven't seen this much water at these places since 1998.
