Observation details
Fantastic spotting by Carl E. Bird was resting on a rock on the beach on the south side of the inlet. Bird flew around and was feeding. I arrived at the right place at the right time. Small tern with pinkish cast visible at times depending on the light. Pale gray above with thin solid black bill, orange legs and feet with two aluminum leg bands and long deeply forked tail. Photos. An uncommon tern in the area most likely from the Florida Keys heading northbound. Looked small in comparison to a Common Tern next to it.
