NOTES: Background Sounds: other Procnias tricarnculata, insects; Sound Category: type 'B' song; Habitat Types: tree is beside narrow dirt road which cuts between cloud forest on one side and mixed old and second growth on the other; Strata in Habitat: song perch; Site: on road to Reserve, 1/2 km from entrance, 1.5 km Southeast of Lecheria; south side opposite Calvert Property; atop 25m tall tree, top 1.5 meter bare. Plumage: brown and white pattern of adult but colors dingy. sooty or dirty. greenish white patches on sides & top of head; dingy breast. extended wattles. brownish body wings & tail. greenish flecks on belly hard to see due to fog. two silent adult males present, one interacts switching perches. Display by immature: change perches about face in air; call "kck" at adult, hopping along branch. Calls all by immature: "KGEK AK" "tip ok ak", "kik KGEK", "KOK" "tip enk ek" Background: distant "BONG"s of other bell birds; "wolf whistle" by Piaya cayana. Study Subject # 19; Habitat: Cloudforest, Evergreen Forest, Montane Grassland, Edge.
