Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) MDI High School Nov 30 2016 from Russel Kroft MDI student
Observation details
Just based on sized this appeared to be a male . Ear tufts and tawny orange-brown face were evident as I approached quietly. (I returned with a camera later with no luck) BUT Russel Kroft, an MDI High School student working with me did photograph this bird below in the same tree I saw it sitting in.
