Observation details

Medium size songbirds, stocky with large triangular bill. Birds were black-and-white with red extending from the black throat down the middle of the breast. Females were brown and heavily streaked, with a bold whitish stripe over the eye. Square Tail. Feeding on sunflower seeds in back yard and also in large trees.
