Observation details
Photos. Walking on the back side of the pond near T intersection (basically at the spot where all the ducks go in the dead of winter when most of the pond is iced over) when a very large woodpecker flew right over my head from the Cabot Estate area into the Parkman memorial area. Ran after it got some bad photos before it flew up into the woods of Hellenic. Walked up to Prince Street and heard calling and relocated pretty quickly. More bad photos but then it flew closer to the fence further along Prince Street and I got some decent photos. First Suffolk record for me. Note: stayed pretty steadily in the Hellenic woods. Mostly past the Forsythia bushes and opposite the fire hydrant on Prince Street.
