Observation details
Continuing bird that I first spotted here yesterday, re-found this morning by Alex M. Seen *much* closer than yesterday - right on the beach in front of us at one point! The gull was distant when I arrived, but John P. directed me to it and even at a distance the Black-headed Gull was obviously larger on the water than Bonaparte’s Gulls next to it (scoped at 60x). Later, Liam H. spotted the BHGU on the beach very close to us! It flushed to the northwest, but later offered some decent observance as it transited south to Dumas Bay, picked up in flight by Ryan M. - BHGU very clearly larger in flight than BOGU with stiffer, less frequent wingbeats (digiscope video captured). Seen initially with John P., Greg H., Kathy K., and Neil H., and later with Ryan M., Eric H., Alex S., Louis K., Alec R., Matt D., Jason V. and others.
