Observation details
Sitting on strand of exposed mud. Initially noticed the mantle was more charcoal than black, the bird was not that much larger than the surrounding RBGUs and HERGs and there was streaking on the head. Head was tucked and legs hidden by other birds. Then a GBBG landed in front of the LBBG, making the size and color difference clear. After a while the GBBG moved so I could see its legs, which were dull pinkish. About 10 minutes later, the LBBG moved into the clear and I got a very good look at its bright yellow legs.
