Observation details
When I arrived at the pier the first bird I saw was a lone Grebe about 300 feet out in the Sound. Before I got my scope up I looked at it through my bins and saw that it might be a Clark's-the same one photographed by Rick Taylor recently? Through the scope I confirmed that it was indeed a Clark's. Bright yellow bill, thin black hind neck stripe, buffy sides and white above the eye. It was very windy and the water was choppy but I managed a few decent images.
