Media notes
Two Crested (Southern) Caracaras (presumed male and female?) are interacting (the progressively louder 2-note "crackle" calls) on the ground, one of the two birds giving most, if not all, of the calls. A Red-crested Cardinal is singing in foreground. Background includes: cattle, deep two-note calls of Greater Rhea, a bit of song of Chalk-browed Mockingbird, distant Rufous Hornero, Striped Cuckoo & Rufous-collared Sparrow. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME67 directional mic with an Auray shaggy windscreen.
