Observation details
Incredible looks at one singing and perched very close. We heard it singing its piping call up the hill behind us, and eventual in response to Jacobo's whistling it flew in and we had amazing looks. Bright buff eye ring, brown above with thin and short buff streaks on mantle, bright white throat, gray crown, streaked black on white chest. Long antpitta legs. Had incredible views, it was very confiding and unafraid, perfectly willing to sit on a perch and sing for long periods of time. It had a hilarious and endearing habit of puffing out its belly feathers, making it look like a little ballon blowing up and deflating. Really cool/comic behavior which was independent of singing, saw it do this when it was silent and during a song.
