Observation details
Despite the mass of gulls, this was the only jaeger for the day, and a great treat for the last pelagic bird of the day as we were heading home. Incredible views of juvenile southeast of Star Island. Everyone with a camera got great photos. Interestingly missing some upper wing coverts on one wing and showing a distinctive white patch.Juvenile. Well seen by all and great photos for many on boat. Watched for about 15 minutes or more at close range. Missing upper wing coverts on one wing.
