Observation details
**Very rare, only my fifth time in the Basin (third at Myers). Molting adult on point. Foraging along north shore, then resting on one leg for some time behind vegetation patch. Flew to tip of spit to sleep for a while, then walked back along shore. Others saw it fly to Salt Point several times. Caught several crayfish, some quite large, along edge of creek. Large, all-gray shorebird, thick black bill, pale rump, bold white wing pattern in flight.
