Observation details
A LBBG that I initially presumably was the L. fuscus taimyrensis. Notes at time below... A long pointed winged gull similar to Herring in size (smaller than adjacent GWGU and slightly larger than CAGU). White head with some fine streaking at nape and smudging around eye. Mantle slaty gray (as dark as pure WEGU). Thin, longer bill with red gonydeal spot (not bulky like GBBG) Yellowish legs (hint of pink). Unsure of eye color (unable to tell eye color from photos). After looking at the photos of the L. fuscus taimyrensis from January 26 at this site (thanks Lucas C), this bird appeared to have a somewhat darker mantle (perhaps due to lighting), much yellower legs (again perhaps due to lighting) and longer primaries (this bird is not in primary molt like there appears to be in the January 26 photos). This raises concern for a 2nd bird that is actually L. fuscus graellsii.
