Observation details
initial ID made by Field Guides tour guide. A Charadrius that was noticeably larger than the nearby Wrybills. Upperparts muddy brown, single brown band dividing throat from breast, obvious white forehead above dark brown "masked" appearance. Bill moderate to small in size (not size of Greater Sand Plover bill). Seen by all of tour group and local volunteer observer Wendy Lane. Details left at visitor center in hopes others can observe the bird and verify its identification. No objective documentation could be obtained (too far), but sketch was made by Dan Lane.
