Media notes
A bird foraging in shrubs and small trees. Later parts of recording are best.
Observation details
At least 2, maybe 3. Finally got this boy! And good views at that. All this while I was mostly looking for the other, trilly call, because the chuk didn't seem distinct in recordings. I first spotted a bird, more rufous than BRW, and certainly much bigger with strikingly long and loose tail (compared to, say, CRW). It quickly went out of sight but I kept watching as it gave repeated chuk calls (which in this species is louder than BRW but not necessarily harsher, with individual notes coming in quick succession), and eventually saw it for a few more seconds. Got record shot and good recording. There was another individual responding to the contact calls. A species that immediately stands out--if seen :D. 700th species!
