Observation details
Several observers thought this bird was to small to be White-necked Petrel but we really did not have much time to watch it. Two expert seabird authorities identified it as a White-necked Petrel and this would be the most expected species in Hawaiian waters in January. Cook and Juan Fernandez Petrels are not present in Hawaiian waters in January.
