Observation details
After watching a couple of suspected Kashmir flycatchers for a few days, one was finally photographed by Albin fanning its tail. Bhanu saw another individual was also seen fanning its tail 3 times (may have been the same but a little away from the first). If this is behaviour exhibited only by Kashmir, then these individuals are Kashmir and not breasted. Also seen and photographed today was one bird (same as second fanner?) with grey sides to the neck and orange wash almost till the belly and on its flanks. The white on the sides of the tail (we felt) was also less visible than red-breasted when the tail was closed. These birds spent a lot of time close to the ground but also went up into the canopy once in a while. It was regularly making the squirrel like call.
