Observation details
Rare flycatcher found today on the Monterey Audubon CBC. Larry and I found the flycatcher at the same time in the Hartnell Creek riparian habitat behind the Mty Library. It was very cooperative and then it flew along the creek in the direction of TJ's, but must have doubled back as we then saw it from the adjacent parking lot on the far side of the library. A HUVI was nearby at that time, but was clearly acting very different than the flycatcher, although it looked similar at a glance. We watched it pump its tail from a relaxed position upward on several occasions. Photos 2 and 3 show this action.
