Observation details
**very rare inland and very unexpected given that October's mass incursion seems to have all but dried up. Westbound from the street east of the outlet. Spotted by RJZ from the car as we were pulled over to figure out where the Harlies were, DRB sprinted out and got some pics. Familiar large alcid structure - medium-sized, very chunky waterbird with no neck or leg projection. Thin wings with rapid wingbeats. All white below, including underwings. Black upperparts, including back and upperwings. No dark flank streaking seen in the field or visible in pics (contra COMU). White reaching up behind the eye to form a semi-collar (contra TBMU). Very thin white trailing edge on the secondaries visible in a few of the pics. DRB photos
