Observation details
Flying east at 8:29; football shaped body black on top and white below; head/neck black above and white below with black spur wrapping down around neck slightly; not enough detail seen on head/bill to eliminate rarer Thick-billed Murre. One hour after our sighting, Razorbill was reported flying east past Hamlin by Chris Wood. Recent invasion of Razorbills into Lake Ontario with several sightings yesterday on Canadian side; low quality images attached, but ID was based on fairly lengthy look of bird as it flew by and only tried to snap some shots after it was by us; UPDATE 9:33pm 10/30: After further discussion, we deemed this a Razorbill (instead of "large alcid sp" based on the amount of white that showed in the face of the bird
