About the size of Eastern Kingbird, but much heftier bill(with slight hook on end) Upper half of bird slate gray (much lighter than E.Kingbird, black "mask" from mid-eye back to nearly back of head, scalloped wings (seen while perched), underside white from throat, lower half of face, through chest, belly and vent. Slight dusty on upper chest. Notched tail with no white tip. Ruled out E. Kingbird and Northern Shrike. Multiple photos taken by multiple observers in our group.
