Observation details
unexpected! Was scanning the gulls on the beach when the Phalarope popped into my binocular view. Looks like a juvenile transitioning to basic plumage. Different individual from the one Jeff Ellerbusch found at Spermaceti Cove on 9/25 based on clear plumage differences (his looked more like a basic-plumaged adult). Bird spent the entirety of observation period spin-feeding about 10 feet offshore from the beach in between the False Hook and largest of the tidal channels from the beach directly out from the end of Fisherman’s Trail.
