Observation details
Small gull in juvenile plumage. Smaller that Bonaparte's Gull that it was with. Juvenile Bonaparte's ruled out based on size, bolder M-pattern on upper parts, bolder black ulnar bar, more extensive black on outer primaries and primary coverts, less extensive dark on trailing edge of secondaries. Juvenile Black-legged Kittiwake ruled out based on size, black cap, thinner bill, brownish, more extensive dark on outer primaries and primary coverts. Juvenile Ross's Gull ruled out based on size, shorter bill and lack of a graduated tail.
