NOTES: [The two or three "gack" calls at the very beginning of this recording (0:035-0:045) do sound like calls given by females of this species, but I am unsure about the remaining calls. The series of notes throughout this recording may represent calls by an alarmed bird near a nest or of ducklings (maybe the "pipipi" given by young after alarmed by the recordist?), but they are not really like anything described in either BNA or Cramp et al. (1977. The birds of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. 1. Oxford University Press, Oxford). Quality changed from 2-3 to 3 (assuming that only the first few calls were given by this species - otherwise, it should be changed to 2-3, 2) - CAM - 18 March 2005]. Habitat: Park/Campus/Cemetery, Pond.
