Observation details
Suddenly showed up on shore on north end of Hog Island, much to the delight of many teen campers. Both birds showed transitioning summer plumage molting into winter plumage, one more advanced than the other. Both birds showed white faces indicating males, one with more white on nape and face separating brown cheeks and the other bird still had brown cheeks and head with cleaner white mask and gray lores. Wing and tail feathers appeared bleached and worn, but a couple long scapular feathers still retained by one individual.
