Observation details
Least/Dusky type. Small empid with bold complete eyering, dark and contrasting wing panels, short primary projection and deep-based bill. Compared to expected species: Hammond's would have much longer primary projection and finer bill; Dusky would appear rangier, with a bill not so deep at the base, and less contrasting wing panel, additionally, adult Dusky's are in very worn and drab plumage at this time of year because they molt on their wintering grounds. No vocalizations.
