Observation details
Continuing bird. Seen on the rocks in the front of the lake closest to the parking lot. Lifer! Black cormorant, long neck,. Field Marks that separate from Double-crested: longer tail, smaller size than a DC, bill appeared a little thinner than the normal DC cormorant. The big one however, the white “ V” under the chin was clearly visible. DC cormorant lacks that. Great views in beautiful warm, late afternoon light. Seen just as I was going to leave and give up. Photos will be added tonight or tomorrow. Very cool bird!
