Observation details
Pale pink bird with large spoon shaped bill seen foraging in wet muddy field opposite Corbin's Neck off of Rannapo Road. Most likely the same individual found yesterday afternoon on Allyndale Road in Canaan CT. The MA bird was found early this morning by Matt Kelly and Pauline Banaducci. A first MA record. The Spoonbill fed until about 8:36 AM when it picked up and flew off with a couple Great Egrets to an oxbow lake beyond the cornfields. The bird was briefly seen by a couple observers flying North out of the oxbow later that morning but hasn't been seen since.
