NOTES: GRUNT WHISTLES OF MALES CHASING FEMALES. FEEDING SOUNDS (MALLARD-LIKE QUACKING). [This is a relatively busy recording with a variety of calls given by this species and apparently several others. As far as I can determine, there are "burp" calls by males, "quacks" by females, and Feeding Calls by both sexes given thoughout this recording. There are also several "decrescendo " calls heard in the background (e.g. 2:03-2:05), but I cannot be certain that they were given by this species. There appears to be a "cryptic" stop-start at 2:02. Quality unchanged (2 - though probably more like 2-3 in many places) - CAM - 21 March 2005]. Other Behaviors: Court. Habitat: Pond.
