Observation details
Rare spring transient along the coast. Both individuals were observed together about half a mile south of the visitor center along the gravel loop road (eastern side) singing from the vegetated island within D Pool. Both vocalizing FITZ-bew song rather than the free-BEER song of visually near-identical Alder Flycatcher. Only the second time I've seen & heard this species in Virginia Beach during any spring season (also had two at the refuge 23 May 2020 during a significant migrant fallout event). Photographed and voice recorded.
