Observation details
Photos. They flew in together from the south, low across SE pond as I was leaving. They dropped into the middle cell on west side and I headed back to have a look. watched them feeding and preening along exposed mud and vegetation; one bird periodically flew up, chased a few sandpipers, and circled around calling fairly high up before setting down again. Call a loud, repeated "radicka radicka radicka" or simpler "kark kark kark". Long straight bill black on the outer half, orange on the inner half, long narrow wings with bright cinnamon flight feathers contrasting with blackish primary coverts on the upperwing. Head and body light brown mottled with dark.
