Observation details

ABA rarity found by George McHenry. Seen flycatching from roadside fences around the lower pond feed area on McAdams road. Long black tail with white edging, black cap, light gray back contrasting with dark brown wings and bright white underparts. The brownish wing feathers and tail length about equal to the length of the body indicate a juvenile bird. The forked tail was seen many times as it pursued insects. It perched along side an Eastern Kingbird, this showed the slighter build of the Fork-tailed. Photos courtesy of Anthony Martin.
