Observation details
First noted a large goose flying over the road near Cape Nome. After seeing that it appeared to be a bean-goose, we turned around and followed it until it set down in a small pond just east of Cape. After sitting for 10 minutes, it moved on again and after sitting for a short time once more, settled in near a group of Brant on a grassy island near MP 29.8. A large bean-goose with long, pale neck, long seemingly narrow bill with distinct orange band near tip of bill. Bird was overall large in size, appearing larger than what I would assume a GWFG would look like. Seen close to ducks, brant, and tundra swans. Heard calling several times throughout the 1-1.5 hours we observed it and it was a deep single honk. Left it sleeping and eating on grassy island.
