Observation details
Persistently singing the diagnostic husky "killick" or "che-lek" song (lower pitched and longer in duration than the corresponding song of Least Flycatcher). 8-10 songs per minute for several minutes interrupted by silence for 10 minutes and then a resumption of singing. Exceptionally drab and unsaturated individual. Thin dirty-white eyering (most pronounced at the rear of the orbit). Little contrast between throat and malar area. Traces of streaking on upper breast and flanks; more apparent through binoculars than in the photos. Ramphotheca of mandible dull yellowish-orange. Bill width--moderate. Tail relatively short. .
