Observation details
Continuing bird first found on 5/12. Got a hot tip that it was all over the coyote bush in between the parking lot and the first row of cypress trees. Fortunately, it took me only 10 minutes or so to locate the bird as it was first seen on the wires along the entrance road to the residence, and then in/around the coastal scrub near parking lot, in addition to the cypress trees. Fairly active/mobile, but somewhat skittish and difficult to photograph well. Dapper, deep blue adult male. "Angular" appearance with huge silvery conical bill, large head, dark lores, and rusty/cinnamon wing coverts. Prominent rusty wing-bars, super chunky bill and longer tail separate it from adult male INBU (which is really the only other possibility here). Long desired county bird!
