Observation details
Heard first (unique flight call - liquid-sounding "quid-id-id", up to 4 notes at times, or just one or two). Eventually got on it in flight (seeing characteristic lanky UPSA shape and pumping wingbeats), and saw it drop into the tall grass, saw it give a few bobs of its rear end in classic UPSA fashion, and got the terrible photo shown below. In the photo one can just make out its dark eye which contrasts with the pale face, and see the long extended neck and buffy fading to whitish lower breast. Heard and saw it in flight a couple more times at the east end of the airport right up to dusk, but never got a view of it on the ground again. Two horrible recordings below and a video of it in flight (where you can hear a couple faint flight calls).
