Observation details
Seen along the osprey beach trail 0.3 miles from the northeast corner of the north parking lot. First heard faint chip calls in nearby shrubs. It flew out into seagrape trees near the trail seemingly to investigate my presence for about 30-45 seconds before flying back west of the trail. It did not return or call even when I played bananaquit recordings. Immature bird with distinct curved black bill and pink spot at base of bill. Overall dull gray back, pale belly with yellow wash, and white spot on wing. There was also a faint pale superciliary stripe.
