Observation details
big surprise! First saw it perched in the top of a cottonwood west of gazebo, but it soon flew over to NW corner of settling basins. Managed to see it briefly before it flew again, this time over to a dead tree on the north side of Sweetwater Drive. I watched it for a while but lost it when I went to clean my bins (steady drizzle from the incoming bands of Hurricane Odile). Looked like a male from the amount of red on the crown.
