Observation details
Very small, compact immature buteo with long wing projections. Uneven streaking on body, thin, evenly-spaced tail banding, eye color, and broad subterminal band all good for BWHA. Red-shouldered ruled out also by structure, this bird is small, compact, and chunky. Also streaking tail banding and eye color incorrect for immature Red-shouldered. Gray Hawk should be more strongly marked with broad eyeline, dark malar, and abundant uneven narrow tail bands. This bird is lightly marked with evenly spaced tail bands.
