Media notes
Various series of burry two-note calls given by multiple birds, often a juvenile but an adult and a third bird in the same vicinity. Single-note whit calls given as well.
Observation details
****Very rare. Continuing family, seen after a bit of a wait but very cooperative once detected. In same area as often reported, along dry stream bed on right of trail after eighth crossing and just before log with rocks marking the area. At least three birds in view at one time, possibly as many as four. At least one adult and one juvenile, likely two adults. Distinctive calls helpful in locating the group. No feeding events observed, young seen to be independent but all staying in the general vicinity of each other. Calling frequently and first detected by call, a burry chuwee often given in pairs or triplets.
