Observation details
My first for the park and for the NE side of Marion Co. Sunny, clear day so I stopped at the Shelter B parking lot to scan for raptors before leaving. Only saw one COHA. As I was scanning the sky, a group of crows came into view about 500 feet away and about 150 feet high. I lowered my binocs to count them and heard multiple birds giving distinctive FICR caws. I immediately began audio recording and reached into my car for my camera. The birds flew within about 225 feet. Their flight was from the WSW to the NE. After snapping a few poor photos, I focused on the flight style of a few birds. Wingbeats were more rapid than AMCR and did not have the rowing appearance of that species.
